DACA immigrants to USA: Best Immigration Consultants Hyderabad, Migrate to USA

The fate of the Dreamers in balance as deadline looms near

The Trump administration yet to announce the decision before March 5th 2018 regarding DACA immigration act which helped children of illegal immigrants to USA to get a route to legal permanent residency in the United States.  The Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals Act which was introduced by erstwhile President Obama, allowed the children of immigrants who entered the country illegally a chance of integrating into American society subject to certain conditions. The Trump administration announced the annulment of the act with a deadline for March to find a solution to the problem.

DACA beneficiaries fate to be decided soon

The fate of the nearly 700,000 undocumented immigrants is hanging in balance. The federal program, DACA which protected these immigrants to USA from deportation if they entered US before the age of 16 is being debated as Congress faces a deadline to pass a bill on spending. Democrat party leaders are using the bill on spending as a bargaining ploy to mount pressure on the senate to come up with a solution for the Dreamers. The deadline for the undocumented immigrants to USA is March 5th next year and the Democrats in the US congress are insisting that any spending deal that is made must also include a solution that will ensure that the Dreamers are not deported.  The DACA bill was designed to protect illegal immigrants who were serving in US military or attending university in USA. The DACA immigrants to USA were also given work permits which allowed them to work. The members of congress are working together for a compromise across party lines which would prevent the government having to contend with the lack of a spending bill. The following solutions are being put forward for the benefit of DREAMers otherwise called undocumented immigrants.

Possible solutions for DACA immigrants

The members of congress from both parties have a unique take on dealing with the problem of DREAMers. Democrats are in favor of allowing the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals immigrants to obtain Green Cards and become citizens after living in the US for an uninterrupted period of 5 years. A few republicans have proposed that the time to wait be set at 10 years, while a few others have asked for the waiting time to be extended to 15 years.  A third solution being proposed is that the DACA program be extended for another three years, which would give the members of Congress a reprieve and enough time to come up with a long-term answer. The opponents to illegal immigration to USA have insisted however that any changes to DACA Act need to address the problem of illegal immigration to USA. According to them, providing a soft deal to Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals beneficiaries will only encourage more illegal immigration.  They are asking for a complete overhaul of the immigration process which would not only make the immigration process more selective but would also reduce the number of immigrants being accepted into the country.  There is also the disturbing possibility that the Congress does not come out with any solution, in which case the DACA beneficiaries will begin to lose their protection and will be in line for deportation. This would entail in the young DREAMers losing their college seats and work permits. However it is to be hoped that the US congress comes up with a solution that allows the DREAMers to stay in America to be integrated into the society as Immigrants to USA.
